Another beautiful day amid hills with their superb vineyards and medieval villages, symbols of Tuscany. It’s the super valley of the Chianti that we will ride through first, having fun on our steeds on a big figure of eight in between vineyards. We will then jump back in time, in the middle ages, in the charming little towns of San Gimignano, the town of 100 towers listed as a UNESCO world heritage site for its totally unique and enchanting aspect, and Volterra, which was an important Roman town in its days and the Etruscan capital before that. Finally, we cross the verdant Val d’Elsa, to reach an other Tuscan jewels, Sienna (Unesco world heritage site), where you absolutely have to go and see the famous Palio square and most of all the magnificent cathedral.

We continue with our discovery of Tuscany on the gentle mythical hills of the Valley of Orcia, which beauty has earned it a UNESCO world heritage site classification, where we will make a stop in the very pretty town of Pienza, masterpiece of the Renaissance, listed as a Unesco world heritage site, followed by another enchanting village, the wine capital Montepulciano, where we will have a wine tasting in a historical cave. We leave the Val d’Orcia for a beautiful road across hills and woodlands, which will take us through to a road dug in the rock by the Etruscans, then onto a small, marvellous village, built on top of a cliff, before reaching Orvieto, pearl of Umbria, where we will spend the night. A change of clothes and straight for an unmissable and extraordinary experience with the visit of subterranean Orvieto. For dinner, the best places are around the cathedral.

A spectacular dying town, in a lunar landscape, a beautiful lake and the superb medieval quarter of San Pellegrino, will be on our Latium itinerary today on our way to Rome, where we return the rental motorcycles in late afternoon. What best way to end our adventure but with a sumptuous farewell dinner, in a typical Roman trattoria. Unlike most of the other European capitals, Rome has its own cuisine, a cuisine of the people, poor and simple, but rich in taste and personality, and very much loved by all Italians. It’s also the worthy conclusion of our gastronomic journey that you will have experienced with us, in parallel with the one on two wheels.
