Birth place of the Italian Renaissance, Tuscany is unique and spectacular. It has an extraordinary artistic heritage: villas that belonged to the Medici family, perfectly preserved medieval villages (like San Gimignano, Volterra, Montalcino and many others …) and villages defying all the rules of gravity, like Pitigliano, and still important remains of more distant times, like the Etruscan and Roman civilisations, which gives it a unique mix of history and picture perfect scenery.
It almost seems like time has stood still in the many medieval villages that, like antique jewels, still give this region the atmosphere and artistic beauty of a bygone era.
Each palace, cathedral or church bear the mark of the extraordinary talents of a great artist of the Middle Ages or the Renaissance!
The rich artistic heritage, is concentrated in the more important cities like Florence (but also Siena, Pisa, Lucca and many more), but is also spread throughout the region, making Tuscany an indisputable and unavoidable tourist area . When it comes to landscapes and nature, whether it be the Peaks of Siena, Val d’Orcia, Garfagnana, Chianti or Maremma, beauty is everywhere.
Nature here has many facets, from the elegant Tuscan coastline to the unparalleled spectacle of the Apuan Alps, but the most evocative landscapes of the region are, in our opinion, the ones that harmoniously blend the beauty of nature, in the background, with the works of man: a medieval rampart, a small country church or an impressive monastery.
